Meet Astra member, Bev. She retired last year and we are loving the joy and zest she brings with her in the retirement journey. We asked Bev a few questions:
What is something that surprised you the most about retirement?
I hadn’t realized how very much my life had revolved around work and weekends. The freedom and joy of doing what and whenever is fabulous!!
Do you have anything on your bucket list you are excited to do or have done?
I really didn’t have a bucket list. Since retirement, I have so loved being an available Granny even at a moment’s notice and have also travelled more so I think my bucket list is being created and crossed off as I go.
Favorite book or movie recommendations?
Recently I read The Alice Network by Kate Quinn sitting by the pool in Mexico… what more can I say? The $5 matinee movies at Rainbow Cinemas with retired friends has become a favourite pastime … Green Book, A Star is Born and my favourite, Bohemian Rhapsody are all excellent.
What is one indulgence you couldn’t live without?
Bread! Crusty French, Sourdough, Pumpernickel, Baguettes and the list goes on….
